4 Nerve Flossing Exercises for Sciatica

Nerve flossing...have you done it? If you have seen Dr. Marko for physical therapy, you have probably been instructed in "nerve flossing".

Flossing a nerve is just like flossing your teeth; you move the nerve back and forth, gliding it in one direction and then the other. We floss a nerve to loosen it because nerves can get trapped in soft tissues or even the nooks and crannies of joints. By flossing the nerve, you help it have better movement and this movement can lead to less pain in places like your back where the nerves exit from your spinal column.

If you are having back pain, you will want to consult a doctor of physical therapy to help guide you through nerve flossing or it may aggravate your symptoms if done incorrectly.
